AlphaKing Tour:
Charts
Welcome to AlphaKing.com. Below is a brief summary
of the important components shown on the Chart page. The technical and
fundamental opinions expressed are based on the results of the massive
AlphaKing research project, which is aimed at finding the most effective
combination of investment elements that have proven to have out-performance
value over the long term.

There are three information graphs on
the fundamental row of the Chart page. The graph on the left shows the
overall AlphaKing rating of a company's fundamentals, and ranked against
all other stocks in the database via a quantitative scoring process.
The pie chart snapshot of the stock's ranking can be changed to
a bell-curve view by clicking on the link at the top of the graph, and
vice versa. If the company meets all criteria the stock will be labeled as an
AlphaKing. Only the top 20% or so of the 4200+ stocks in our database
have the necessary fundamentals to warrant an AlphaKing status, which
corresponds to the approximately the top 10% of all stocks traded in the
US.
NGPS is our example stock for this tour of the
Chart page, and is labeled has having Excellent Fundamentals, as being an
AlphaKing, with a top 10% ranking. Having a top overall score and
incredibly impressive fundamentals do not guarantee a profit - if only
investing was that easy! - but our research does show that stocks with the best
overall fundamentals usually provide the best returns when the stock market
delivers on a buy signal and goes on an intermediate term advance.
The second, middle graph highlights five
key elements that showcase a company's fundamental health, including
the AlphaKing opinion of each of those elements. How much time do
investors and traders spend sifting through fundamental data only to be left at
the end of the process no closer to knowing what is or is not a good fundamental
situation? The two graph boxes shown in the fundamental row of our
Chart page state clearly what AlphaKing thinks of a company's fundamentals,
which takes the subjective guesswork out of such analysis. A Below
Average or Dreadful rating does not in itself result in a poor overall
rating. Indeed, NovAtel's (NGPS) overall rating is deemed Excellent, despite a
Dreadful rating in the Revenue Value category. Our results show the
fastest growing companies, with the best value characteristics, along with a
strong financial health rating, and solid institutional support are the best
stocks to own during stock market intermediate rallies. A company's
fundamental profile can be expected to change over time as the company's
prospects improve or deteriorate.
The information box on the right on that top row on
the Chart page shows the Trading Stats for the stock being analysed, using
the AlphaKing Trading Signal to generate entry and exit points.
The Alphaking Trading Signal will be discussed below. The Trading
Stats information box provides an overview of the successes and failures of
the AlphaKing Trading Signal for each stock in the database. It highlights the
number of trades for the stock being analysed since 2000, the percentage of
those trades that made a profit, the average profit and loss on those trades,
the percentage overall gain, and the number of trades on average per year.
AlphaKing is a trend-following system that aims to outperform over the long term
by having an average profit on the winners significantly greater than the
average loss on the failed trades, rather than by securing an incredibly
accurate prediction rate. No one can accurately forecast a stock, or stock
market movement over the long term.
The trading stats shown are averages. Any one trade
can be significantly higher or less than the returns generated in the past. Any
stock can fall 50% or more on a bad news event, no matter how
great a company looks fundamentally, or how well it has performed in the
past. While the act of trading is very easy, making money trading over the long
term is very difficult to achieve. We developed AlphaKing to tip the odds of
victory in our favor in every aspect that we could find and test, but even if we
are successful over the long term, we fully expect the ride of individual
trades to be bumpy and volatile. The Trading Stat box shows how these
trading ups and downs merge together over the years, and offer a road-map of
expectations, though past performance is no guarantee of future
success.
The bottom part of the trade stat box shows the
Current Trade opinion - Buy, Sell,
Hold, or Cash - as based on the AlphaKing
Trading indicator that day. A Hold means a stock issued a buy signal in the past
and is currently being held until the next Sell signal. Once sold, the Trade
recommendation will highlight Cash until the next Buy signal is
generated.
The main stock chart on the Chart page is split
into two portions. The top of the chart shows the current and past buy and
sell cycles of the AlphaKing Trading Signal, with green portions
representing bull-rally periods, while red represents bear-corrective-sell
cycles. These are trend-following signals, and not predictive in nature. The red
and green arrows on the chart represent buy and sell points, and correspond to
the green and red crossovers of the AlphaKing Trading Indicator. A
sell signal is not a forecast of a stock headed lower, rather it is an
indication that the company is currently shy
of rally-mode, and that Cash is the best place for such waffling
times. On occasion, the AlphaKing Trading signal will enter and exit
trade early or late, and other times it will enter and exit
near-perfectly. It is the amount of net profit over the long term that defines
success or failure, rather than the placement of the entry and exit arrows.

The final information box published to the right of
the stock chart on the Chart page shows the actual trading dates corresponding
to buy and sell crossovers of the AlphaKing Trading Signal for the stock being
analysed, along with entry and exit prices and performance of those
trades. Traders and investors currently using traditional technical
indicators to help time their trade entry and exit are more or
less alone in their quest to generate profits over the long
term. They sift through the hundreds of commonly used technical indicators using
technical analysis software or by visiting charting websites. These
indicators, when tested, provide poor returns over the long term. The
AlphaKing Trading indicator has proven in testing to provide better returns over
the long term than those traditional indicators, and the trade tracking
information box on the Chart page highlights the successes and failures of those
trades.
It is rare for competing charting websites and
technical analysis software to provide trackable performance profiles to
help gauge what indicators and signals a trader or investor should be following.
That leaves all investors and traders having to spend a massive amount of time
on their own testing, most of which will lead to many years of losses before
they locate and settle on an entry/exit system that works well enough to drive
performance into the black. We have done that research, have found what we
believe to be the best, and present that information in an easy to understand
and track format. What traders and investors do with that information is up
to them.
Markets Open, Awaiting Close Before Updating
One important item shown near the top right hand
corner of the Chart page is the Download Status line. The AlphaKing system
currently uses end of date pricing data to generate signals, and we have to
wait for the stock market to close before beginning the pricing download. That
download occurs once per day, and is usually completed before 7pm eastern time.
Once the download is completed for that day it will be highlighted on the
Download Status line shown in the top right hand corner. While we strive for
accuracy and efficiency in everything we do at AlphaKing, the stock price data
is provided by a third party and as such is outside our control. We will work
diligently to fix any errors should they occur.
Please take a moment to read how trading
performance results are tabulated, as well as the disclaimer. Stock trading is a
very difficult, often costly pursuit, and only those traders and investors who
understand and accept those risks should consider buying and selling
stocks.
Results are tabulated using the opening price the day following
a new trading signal, and exclude commissions, dividends, or interest paid on cash balances
during sell periods. Stock prices highlighted in blue are temporary - using the end of day
quote the day a new buy or sell signal is generated - with the final price adjusted the
following trading day when the opening price is available. Past performance is no guarantee
of future success
